It motivates us to do things
It tells us how rubbish we are…………wait a minute…..that can’t be right. Tells us how rubbish we are?
Make this the first day you begin to discover how well or badly you are treating yourself. When did you last say to a friend ‘you’re stupid’ or ‘you’re doing that wrong; you always do it wrong’ or ‘who do you think you are anyway’?
And yet many people are regularly and consistently saying this to themselves on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis.
No wonder your self-esteem isn’t great!
As you start to become aware of the things you say to yourself in your head, consider these 3 tips:
- Talk to yourself as you would talk to a friend
- Use an encouraging tone of voice
- Remind yourself often of the things you are doing well
This way you can become a kind and encouraging coach for yourself
And the purpose of this new way of talking to yourself? It will improve your health and wellbeing, as well as the health and wellbeing of those who come into contact with you
