Long Covid and the Lightning Process

We thought it was time for an update on Long Covid and the Lightning Process now that it’s around 3 years after people started getting it.

Post-COVID-19 syndrome (NICE guidelines)

Signs and symptoms that develop during or after an infection consistent with COVID‑19, continue for more than 12 weeks and are not explained by an alternative diagnosis. It usually presents with clusters of symptoms, often overlapping, which can fluctuate and change over time and can affect any system in the body.

The Get Change Team – Fiona and Pippa – have seen 80+ people for Long Covid in the last couple of years using the Lightning Process, with approximately 80% reporting they’ve made a positive change to their health, many of them going back to work or school.

Symptoms before LP:

I used to be an active teacher and Mum, regularly doing cardio exercise 5 times a week. Now I’m struggling to teach, can’t look at the laptop without getting fatigued, hot flushes. I have to have regular rest and some days I struggle to do much at all. I would say I have minor depression as a result of the illness.

3 months after LP :

I’m back to the old routine which is great. I’m busy busy busy with life, back in the throws of wellness.

General patterns we have noticed with clients who come to the LP for Long Covid:

They were often doing very stressful jobs and/or dealing with very stressful issues before they got Covid

They are often not good at putting themselves first or being kind to themselves

They are often people who have mainly been fit and well before getting Covid

Let your friends, relations and colleagues know about the Lightning Process

Long Covid is of course hugely affecting workplaces because of absence, and affecting NHS resources, so please tell your friends and colleagues about the Lightning Process, just so they can decide for themselves whether this might be a way out for them.
